Combining OLEs with community care
Combining OLE with volunteering
The Federation wants to make the most of the opportunity to combine academic requirements and volunteer work for
the community. That's why the HKFYG Tsuen Wan Youth SPOT arranges OLE programme packages for secondary students who go with disabled youngsters to visit the elderly.

The scope of the New Senior Secondary Curriculum means we can work with schools and connect young volunteers with people of all ages in the community. Students learn tolerance and acceptance of people who are very different from themselves and they teach computer skills to those who are not digital natives. They hold group interviews with the elderly and produce DVDs about their memories, preserving an intangible form of cultural heritage.

HKFYG is now planning OLE programmes for the coming school year. Please contact the Student Support Centre, tel 3422 3161, for information.
