Youth Matters
Help available from dse@27771112

Education is something that we cannot avoid, especially those who are in school. Yet somehow, this rite of passage has become so stressful and competitive that young students, especially those at secondary school, are finding the entire journey of learning and education traumatic and taxing. Perhaps there is no quick fix to this reality, but really what should be at issue is the mental, emotional and psychological health of those who will be sitting Hong Kong's new public examinations, three months away, in March 2012. Yes, these exams are a part of life, but they should not burden our children to the extent that they feel overwhelmed. We offer help and we are here for any student who contacts us. Education is more than exams; it is about acquiring knowledge, learning to be curious, open and excited about what is new. We need to put these and all other exams in perspective, for the good of our children.
